Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

July 27, 2020

Dear Early Head Start Parents and Caretakers:

We know this time for your family is difficult and unique in its challenges, as we all continue to deal with the COVID-19 closures and social distancing. We are going to do what we can to help! Your center staff will continue to be in communication throughout any closure period to support you. We will also be providing resources by email, text message and on our Facebook page, so you have options for continued learning for your child, and direct links to resources for other needs your family may have.

Currently, in accord with orders from state and local authorities, school districts in our area have announced that they will not be re-opening for in person classes until at least September 8, 2020. We will also postpone in-person center attendance until at least September 8, 2020.

At this time, we continue to follow the State and Center for Disease Control guidance as it relates to taking precautionary actions as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Early Head Start and Head Start in-person center-based services will remain suspended through September 7th. We will stay in communication supporting our enrolled families with remote learning and at-home activities. We will also let you know when we are able to once again safely operate in-person center-based services.

Sincerely,
Clifton Whitley
Executive Head Start Director
